Russia has recently unveiled new technology based 5P-42 Filin (eagle-owl) non-lethal weapons. Actually, Russia has designed such this 4P-12 Filin non-lethal weapon to temporarily blind or distract the enemy by creating intense flashing of light without the use of bullets or explosive devices on the battlefield. The new weapon has already been installed experimentally on several Russian warships. The enemy troops can be temporarily blinded and they lose the ability to use their weapons. Moreover, the enemy troops will be visually impaired and in this case they will start seeing unreal objects. On the other hand, the enemy will begin to suffer of nausea. Russia's new era 5P-42 non-lethal defense device has been developed by Russel Electronics Company which is a defense related technology company in Russia.

রাশিয়া সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে সম্পূর্ণ এক নতুন ধরণের ৫পি-৪২ ফিলিন (ঈগল-পেঁচা) নামক নন-লেথাল বা অ-মারণাস্ত্র প্রযুক্তি বিশ্বের সামনে প্রকাশ করেছে। আসলে রাশিয়া তৈরি ৫পি-৪২ ফিলিন নন-লেথাল বা অ-মারণাস্ত্রটি যুদ্ধের ময়দানে গুলি বা এক্সপ্লুসিভ ডিভাইস ব্যবহার না করেই তীব্র আলোর ঝলকানী সৃষ্টি করে শত্রুকে সাময়িকভাবে অন্ধ কিম্বা বিভ্রান্ত করার উপযোগী করে ডিজাইন করা হয়েছে। নতুন এই অস্ত্রটি ইতোমধ্যেই রাশিয়ার বেশ কিছু যুদ্ধজাহাজে পরীক্ষামুলকভাবে ইনস্টল করা হয়েছে। এই ৫পি-৪২ ফিলিন নন-লেথাল বা অ-মারণাস্ত্র প্রয়োগ করে শত্রু পক্ষের সেনাদের সাময়িকভাবে অন্ধ করে দেয়া যাবে এবং শত্রু সেনারা নিজ অস্ত্র ব্যবহারের সক্ষমতা হারাবেন। তাছাড়া শত্রু সেনাদের দৃষ্টিভ্রম ঘটবে এবং এক্ষেত্রে তারা অবাস্তব জিনিস চোখে দেখতে শুরু করবে। পাশাপাশি শত্রুদের শুরু হবে ব্যাপক মাত্রায় বমিভাব। রাশিয়ার এই নতুন যুগের ৫পি-৪২ নন-লেথাল বা অ-মারণাস্ত্র প্রযুক্তিটি তৈরি করেছে রুসেল ইলেক্ট্রিক্স নামক একটি ডিফেন্স রিলিটেড প্রযুক্তি পন্য উৎপাদনকারী সংস্থা।
