A few days ago, America paid Russia a billion dollars in the midst of extreme tension over the Ukraine war. America transferred this money mainly to cover the arrears of nuclear fuel supplied by Russia's ‘ROSATOM’ company. Now, not only America but also all developed countries collect enriched uranium for nuclear power plants from Russia. In fact, no country in the world can match Russia's technological capabilities and expertise in civil nuclear fuel design, manufacture, and management.
Today, the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM) has emerged as the main source of fuel (enriched uranium) for nuclear power plants around the world. It was founded only 16 years ago, in 2007, and still produces and supplies more than half of the world's demand for enriched uranium-based nuclear energy.
After the disaster at Japan's Fukushima nuclear power plant in 2012, there were calls for the closure of nuclear power plants all over Europe, but when conventional energy sources and supply systems were damaged in the heat of the Ukraine-Russia war, the world's most influential countries again turned to the start of nuclear power plant-based electricity power generation systems.
Although it is a civilian nuclear reactor building company, it actually involves about 350 subsidiary contactors or supply chain companies. This Nuclear Power Plant Building and Development Company completed this huge work in coordination with them. At present, this company designs, engineers, and builds nuclear reactor-based power plants with a capacity of 1,800 megawatts, 2,400 megawatts, or more based on the needs of different countries.
‘ROSATOM’ Corporation is working now to produce highly enriched uranium, nuclear fuel supply, and management. On the other hand, they support other countries in operating nuclear power generation systems, training, radioactive waste management, and disposal using their own technology. They also turn nuclear waste into solids and help safely remove and store them.
Russia's Putin government-controlled ‘ROSATOM’ company achieved revenue of more than 18 billion dollars in 2022, despite the war. And the number of employees working in this organization may be close to 3 lakh. Apart from manufacturing nuclear reactor-based power generation systems, it also manufactures and exports nuclear medicine, wind power generation systems, and hydrogen fuel all over the world.
Since 2007, they have built a total of 33 to 40 nuclear power plants around the world. At present, they have about 10 nuclear power plant construction projects going on. Moreover, this nuclear power plant construction company is building 2,400 MW of high-tech nuclear power plants of 1,200 MW each two plants in Ruppur, Ishwardi, and Pabna, Bangladesh, which will start the power generation process in phases in 2024.
